Direct portfolio of Internet services has been re-branded as Butterworths
LEXIS Direct. This is to take account of the significant addition
of the LEXIS-NEXIS Professional service to the site. Established in
1980 in the UK, LEXIS-NEXIS is an online legal research tool with truly
unrivalled coverage and is essential for those firms practicing in the
global market place. It provides access to full-text online legal, news
and business information services - with over 2 billion documents gathered

Page, accessible via the new url, www.butterworths.com, will offer
access to the wide range of Butterworths and LEXIS online services
and bring you the latest legal news and analysis - all in one place.
Button links
and icons now take you to separate pages containing our subscription
services and LEXIS-NEXIS Professional. In addition, a link to 'Tolley
Online' will take you to a dedicated site offering full details
of Tolley publications together with access to the various Tolley
Online Services, such as Pensions World and Payroll Direct.
Our News Direct
service has been refocused towards the provision of quality journalism
offering the best in legal business news and analysis. Day to day legal
news stories will now be supplied through a tailored link to the LEXIS-NEXIS
Tell Me More service and general world news will be delivered via embedded
links to Moreover.com, the world's most comprehensive online news aggregation
service.
We are continuing
to offer the aRMadillo company and trademarks search facility, our
full library of legal links, the New Law Journal Online, web-linked
publications and our authors area.

about Butterworths Tolley, including full contact details for your
local area sales manager, can be found via the button labelled 'About
Butterworths' and we are now providing a direct link to our online
catalogue containing details of all Butterworths Tolley publications.

If you have used your
browser to add a Butterworths Direct service as a favourite, you will
find that this connection has been disrupted by the redesign of the Home
Page. If you have previously used favourites to enable quick access to
your subscription service, or would like to now, we recommend you add

Owing to the growing
number of subscription services we have separated them from the
main Home Page. Simply go to the Home Page, click on either the
button labelled 'Butterworths Services' or on the Butterworths Services
icon to access a new 'Butterworths Services' page on which you will
find all of our online products.
We have also
released a new design for NETbos, the software used to display,
browse and search the Butterworths Services. The purpose of the
redesign is to enhance user navigation, reduce the space taken by
tool bars and thus increase the screen area in which data can be
viewed.
The result is
a more pleasing and user-friendly application. Further, the Online
Product Manuals are available on the Butterworths Services page,
in .pdf format. This format will allow the subscriber to download
and print out the guides. (Adobe Reader is free and can be downloaded
from the Internet.) As new enhancements to the services are announced
and released, instructions will be added to this site to enable
the subscriber to download, add, or if necessary replace the existing
section within the guides. The guides are designed to print out
in A4 format and can easily be filed in any ring binder.
Title bars will be
added to all services, enabling easy navigation throughout the service
and back to the Home Page. The tree and toolbar have also been enhanced
to provide greater clarity and ease of use.
TotalSearch is a new
search facility, which will allow the subscriber to search through all
our online services, including LEXIS-NEXIS Professional. It will be possible
to search through one service, part of a service or many services simultaneously.
